Workshop: Research Journalism - Reliable Source for Judicial Work

Center for Social Research Analitika is organizing workshop “Research Journalism: Reliable Source for Judicial Work”, which will be held on October 26th 2018, from 09:45 to 16:00 at the Hotel NOVOTEL Sarajevo Bristol in Sarajevo.

Workshop participants will have opportunity to learn how to collect and analyze official information based on the highest standards of journalism and create media content based on them that will lead to public and judicial reactions.

During the workshop participants will be introduced to the best practices of objective reporting, the differences between ordinary and investigative journalism, and methods of gathering information that involve the use of the Law on Freedom of Access to Information. Also, workshop participants will have the opportunity to learn more about research procedures, techniques for creating databases and working with large amounts of data, checking facts and methods of writing research stories. Participants will also learn how CIN investigative stories emerged and how they led prosecutors to launch investigations and raise accusations of corruption and block the suspects' property.

This workshop is organized within the project „Integrity through Justice: independent civil society monitoring and assessment of judicial response to corruption“, which is implemented by Center for Social Research Analitika in partnership with Balkan Investigative Reporting Network (BIRN) and funded by the European Union and Open Society Fund Bosnia and Herzegovina.
