The policy memo by Analitika points to the key elements of action planning in the framework of Open Government Initiative, and provides recommendation on possible avenues for approaching to action planning process in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
After September 24, when Bosnia and Herzegovina joined the Open Government Partnership as its 65th member, the country additionally took over the responsibility of committing to concrete measures in implementing principles of open government. The first step in this regard is to develop an action plan as a strategic document that identifies priorities and activities in the area of transparent and accountable governance, citizen participation in decision-making processes, and the use of new technologies and innovation to increase the openness of government.
By outlining the key elements of action planning, this policy memo offers examples of various modalities for cooperation and coordination of activities between different government levels and a wider range of civil society organizations, points to examples of good practice and lessons learned from the countries around the world and gives references for the relevant resources in this area. Special attention is given to the principle of partnership and to concrete steps in drafting process, based on which this policy memo offers recommendations on possible avenues for approaching to the action planning process in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
