Round table will also focus on capacities and perspectives of NGO’s role in the litigation that are strategically important.

As one of a few tools agents discrimination, strategic litigation in past couple of years became more present in Bosnia and Herzegovina, at least among expert debates. Importance of anti-discriminatory strategic litigation – which is understood as the initiation and conduction of court proceedings in the public interest – is reflected in its potential to encourage social changes, contribute to consistent application of the law and to raise awareness about different ways of discrimination. However, although it is a concrete and potentially effective, this mechanism of protection from the discrimination is, so far, had limited success and importance in the context of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
